    This journey began among the palm trees, sun, heat, and colors of Santo Domingo. In 1985, Marco Santucci, founder and CEO of Rucoline, was a young landowner in Bocachica who would buy colorful shoes woven with a fishing needle from a Haitian woman in the neighborhood each day. He collected a pair at a time and brought them to Italy with the idea of starting an extraordinary adventure.
